'CURTAIN UP' AT THE SEFTON HOTEL'S NEW THEATRE BAR
'CURTAIN UP' AT THE SEFTON HOTEL'S NEW THEATRE BAR

Sir Norman's Bar at the Sefton Hotel has reopened with a new name and a dramatic new look following a major refit.

The interior design of the Sir Norman's Theatre Bar, as it is now known, pays tribute to the late Sir Norman Wisdom OBE and references the elegance of Victorian theatre, in particular the adjoining Gaiety Theatre with which the Sefton Hotel has long-standing connections.

With the refit, those connections have been literally strengthened, as a door in the new private area of the bar leads directly into the Gaiety Theatre's foyer.
In keeping with the theatrical theme there is a raised stage area to showcase lounge-bar acts, artwork around the walls celebrates local theatrical productions from the past and, as a final flourish, there is an all-new Sir Norman's Theatre Bar menu. Read more...

SEFTON GROUP TO SERVE UP TO SUPPORT FOR SALVATION ARMY'S BOXING DAY LUNCH

For the fourth year in succession the Sefton Group will be supporting the Salvation Army's Christmas Relief programme. The group will be supplementing the charity's own supply of turkey, cooking the meat and donating the potatoes for a Boxing Day lunch to be served by a team of volunteers to some 70 service users of the Salvation Army at its temporary site, Fairfield School in Tynwald Street, Douglas.

The Sefton Group Hotels' senior general manager Gareth Capper said: 'The Salvation Army works tirelessly all year round, helping the lonely, the vulnerable and the excluded. The positive impact their services have on people's lives is all the more remarkable given the challenging funding environment in which they, and many other local charitable organisations, are having to operate today.

'At Christmastime those most in need in our community can feel isolated, so we are pleased to be joining forces once again with Lieutenant Rachael Nieuwoudt and her team at the Salvation Army to play our part in supporting their Christmas Relief programme.' Read more...
