The refit of Harbour Lights at the Sefton has drawn praise from guests who attended a reception to celebrate the official reopening of the Sefton Hotel's flagship restaurant.
Guests, who included the then Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Douglas, Councillor Stephen Pitts and Ms Paula O'Brian, and Members of Tynwald, enjoyed a canapé-style taste of the new menu then heard Ben Heath, director of the family-owned Harbour Lights group, say: 'I am delighted that the new-look Harbour Lights at the Sefton has been so well received. The design cues of the refurbished space reference the hotel's elegant Victorian architecture, reimagined for the 21st century. We could not ask for a better backdrop to showcase our modern British and international cuisine.
'Bringing this project to such a successful conclusion has been a major undertaking and we're very grateful to the Sefton Group for their continued support and cooperation.'
Group operations director for the Sefton Group Adrian Brockhouse said: 'The Sefton Hotel is proud to be home to Ben and his family's latest venture. With this refurbishment of Harbour Lights at the Sefton the partnership between the Sefton Group and the Harbour Lights group goes from strength to strength. Two respected local brands with a shared endeavour: to deliver consistently exceptional customer service and to further the Island's reputation as a special place to live, work and visit.'
