Sir Norman's Bar at the Sefton Hotel has reopened with a new name and a dramatic new look following a major refit.

The interior design of the Sir Norman's Theatre Bar, as it is now known, pays tribute to the late Sir Norman Wisdom OBE and references the elegance of Victorian theatre, in particular the adjoining Gaiety Theatre with which the Sefton Hotel has long-standing connections.

With the refit, those connections have been literally strengthened, as a door in the new private area of the bar leads directly into the Gaiety Theatre's foyer.
In keeping with the theatrical theme there is a raised stage area to showcase lounge-bar acts, artwork around the walls celebrates local theatrical productions from the past and, as a final flourish, there is an all-new Sir Norman's Theatre Bar menu.

Sir Norman's Theatre Bar is operated by the restaurant group Harbour Lights in partnership with the Sefton Group.

Harbour Lights director Ben Heath said: 'We are delighted to have collaborated with local theatre companies to provide us with some of the beautiful artwork featured in the brand-new Sir Norman's Theatre Bar. This project is the conclusion of our 2018 investment programme which has seen nearly £1m invested into the island. Our journey to launch two new brands and transform the Sefton Hotel public restaurant areas could not have been possible without the tremendous dedication of local businesses across the design, hospitality, construction and supply sectors. My sincere thanks to all of those individuals and to our own team who have proved, once again, their dedication in providing wonderful customer experiences.'

Group operations director of the Sefton Group Adrian Brockhouse said: 'We are pleased to be strengthening our mutually beneficial business relationship with Harbour Lights. The significant investment the company has made in the Sefton Hotel's bar and restaurant areas reflects Harbour Lights' commitment to deliver exceptional high standards of hospitality, an objective we at the Sefton Group share. Importantly, the creation of Sir Norman's Theatre Bar represents a resounding vote of confidence in the local visitor economy and I wish Ben and his colleagues every success with their new venture.'
